High School Science Teacher – ESE
General Summary: Morning Star School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher – ESE to join our team. Under the direction of the school principal, this educator will play a vital role in supporting the Diocese of St. Augustine’s mission to educate, evangelize, and catechize youth within a Catholic school environment. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and engaging learning experience tailored to students with exceptional learning needs.
Paraprofessional – ESE
Primary Function: Morning Star School is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional – ESE to support our students and teachers in a nurturing, faith-based learning environment. Under the direction of the school principal and the supervision of a teacher, the paraprofessional will assist in providing instruction, classroom management, and individualized support to students with exceptional learning needs.
Extended Day Staff (Part-Time)
Primary Function: Morning Star School is seeking caring and reliable Extended Day Staff to supervise and engage students in our after-school program. Under the direction of the school principal, this role involves providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment for students after school hours.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Additional hours on early dismissal days: 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (varies monthly)
Substitute Teacher
Primary Function: Morning Star School is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers to provide instructional support in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Under the direction of the school principal, the substitute teacher will uphold the mission of the School and the Diocese of St. Augustine to evangelize, catechize, and educate students within a Catholic school environment.
The ideal candidate will serve as a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching, demonstrating a commitment to faith-based education both academically and behaviorally, both in the classroom and in personal conduct.

To ensure a safe and high-quality learning environment, Morning Star School conducts thorough local and federal background checks on all employees through the Diocese of St. Augustine. Employment references will also be reviewed as part of the hiring process.
All employees must:
Successfully pass the background screening before employment.
Complete the Protecting God’s Children course.
Meet the moral character standards outlined by the Department of Children and Families’ Affidavit of Good Moral Character to begin or continue employment.
Undergo a criminal background re-screening every five years.
Career & College Preparation
High School High Tech
(HSHT) Program
(In partnership with The Arc) High School High Tech (HSHT) provides students with hands-on career exploration opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Through this program, students gain essential career development skills and real-world experiences to prepare for the workforce.
Program Highlights:
Career exploration in STEM fields
Leadership, communication, and technology training
Networking with local businesses, educators, and Vocational Rehabilitation
Opportunity to attend the Youth Leadership Forum in Tallahassee
Eligibility: HSHT is a year-round program for students ages 14-22 with varying abilities. Funded by The Able Trust, the program has been proven to boost self-esteem and reduce dropout rates, setting students up for success beyond high school.
