Student Leadership & Engagement
Student Government
Student Government provides students with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, represent their peers, and participate in school governance.
Participation in Student Government fosters responsibility, teamwork, and civic engagement, preparing students for future leadership roles.
Elected student leaders—such as president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and class representatives—work together to:
- Plan and organize school events, dances, and fundraisers
- Lead community service projects
- Serve as a voice for the student body, bringing concerns and ideas to administration

This partnership continues to strengthen, fostering faith, friendship, and personal growth.
MSHS Writers’ Lab

The Writers’ Lab will help students grow as writers and prepare them for college, a career path, or to expand their portfolios.
Students create narrative, expository, essay, persuasive, research-based writing, and poetry. Additionally, students can enter writing contests at the state and national levels.
We will delve deeper into the writing process and how to skillfully attack brainstorming, organizing, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing.
Interested Writers’ Lab members can become Junior members of the Florida Writers Association. (A separate $15/year fee applies.)
