2023-2024 Open Positions:

Teacher – ESE

General Summary: Under the direction of the school principal, is responsible for supporting the Diocese of St. Augustine in its mission to educate, evangelize and catechize youth in a Catholic school environment.

School Counselor

(Full and part-time available)

Summary:  Candidates should have a Master’s degree and a current and valid state guidance counselor certificate from the Florida Department of Education or a current and valid Florida state license as Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
Primary Function:  Under the direction of the School Principal is responsible for providing supporting counseling individually and within a group setting to students.

Extended Day (Part-time)

Primary Function:  Under the direction of the school principal is responsible for the care and instruction of after school children.  Work hours are Monday – Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  There are early dismissal days throughout each month when staff is needed from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  

Substitute Teacher

Primary Function:  Under the direction of the school principal, the Substitute Teacher is responsible for supporting the School and the Diocese of St. Augustine in their mission to evangelize, catechize, and educate youth in a Catholic School environment.  The Substitute Teacher shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in personal life.

Criminal Background Check

To ensure that individuals who join our program are well qualified and have a strong potential to be productive and successful, it is the policy of Morning Star School to check the employment references of all applicants.

A local and federal background check will be done on all employees through the Diocese of St. Augustine.  Every employee must successful pass the screening and take the Protecting God’s Children course before employment.

A local and federal criminal check will be done on all employees.  Employees who do not meet the requirements listed on the Department of Children and Families’ Affidavit of Good Moral Character will not be allowed to begin or continue employment.  A five-year re-screen is required on all employees.
